Girls Getaway
We are taking City Surge to new heights! Summer may be a couple seasons away but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun now. In this episode we take you on a fun filled girls getaway in Sandusky, OH.
Merry-Go-Round Museum – Sandusky, OH
Growing up this was my favorite place to visit. There is something so calming about sitting on a carousel figure of your choice and just enjoying the simplicity of spinning around to joyful music. Merry-Go-Round Museum is full of unique history.
We went for a splash at one of America’s largest indoor waterparks! From waterslides and a wave pool to boogie boarding and an indoor water roller coaster, there is so much fun. Personally, I loved going to the swim up bar and relaxing in the indoor/outdoor spa.
Ok, so clearly I liked relaxing because after we got done at the hot tub we had a session at the Halo Salt Therapy Room. I felt so relaxed and energized after our session. Spa Kalahari had a wide variety of services from manis, pedis and facials to massages and even float sessions. I will defiantly be back to try a float session.
From an adult arcade (Noble Arcade) and throwing axes (Noble Axes) to shopping local and eating amazing food Marketplace at the Cooke has it all. My favorite part about this location was all the local history found on the walls. You could easily spend a whole day here with your friends.
Paddle & Climb – Sandusky, OH
This is the only indoor 32-ft rock climbing wall in Sandusky, OH. Looks can be deceiving. I was sore the whole next day from trying to race to the top like the kiddos. During the summer you can rent out kayaks and paddle boards to take out on the water. This shop is an extreme/outdoor sports enthusiasts dream. With brands like Quicksilver, Roxy, Billabong, Sunski and so many more you will want to put this on your shopping list.
My soul is home! I loved the wood work, the vaulted ceilings, the hillside view and of course the fireside. Also, this winery is part of Lake Erie Shores and Islands Cheers Trail. We tried a few of their wines but my own personal favorite was the Buckeye Red. This is a sweet red wine with the classic bold flavor you expect from a red wine. I may have also went home with their Strawberry/Rhubarb and Vidal Ice Wine.
Downtown Sandusky Light display
From a candy cane lane to a beautifully decorated tree this was the perfect way to finish our evening. We really enjoyed the light show on the Merry-Go-Round Museum exterior.
Santa House
Ok, so I had my very own Ralphie (The Christmas Story) “Red Ryder BB Gun” moment on Santa’s lap. Honestly, you will just have to watch to see how this one went down.
