Explore Ohio Through Its Creativity Trail
Art, being a form of expression, is a beacon for storytelling and community. One may argue festivals are a living form of art and tradition (me, I am that one). Friday, February 7 2025 at the Toledo Museum of Art the America 250 – Ohio launched the Ohio Creativity Trail. Before diving into the launch party, let’s identify what this trail is and who is behind it.

What is the Ohio Creativity Trail?
The Ohio Creativity Trail is statewide and comprises six curated groups representing different mediums. There are 109 sites featured on the trail, five of them located in Toledo, Ohio.
What are the six curated groups?
Art is diverse in medium, from film and written word to glass blowing and painting. To help funnel and vastness of creativity, America 250- Ohio identifies literature, music, folklore/traditional art, glass and pottery, visual arts and carousel arts as part of the Ohio Creativity Trail. Each group highlights attractions/sites that fit within the theme.
Who is America 250 – Ohio?
July 2026 America will celebrate 250 years since the declaration was signed. To commemorate this milestone the country and individual states are developing programs and events for everyone to participate in and celebrate the Semi quincentennial. America 250 – Ohio is the state commission of America 250 and is focused on initiatives in Ohio.
The Launch Party
Many thought leaders presented at the launch party and one quote stood out:
“All of this is uniting: our story and our shared identity as Ohioans and Americans,” Wade Kapszukiewicz, Mayor of Toledo, OH said. There was also a performance, of an original song, by students from the Toledo School for the Arts, a monologue performed by Elijah Pierce and a glass-blowing demonstration.
