6 Hidden Gems in Elmore, OH | Small Town Charm
I reached out to my Instagram community for suggestions and many of you said to come to Elmore, Ohio. For years I have driven through this charming town and I’m so glad I made time to enjoy the day at this destination. Even after spending most the day here I still didn’t make it to all the locations. Here is a great start to planning your next trip to Elmore, Ohio:
Attractions
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the gardens in time for the episode but most certainly plan to go back. When planning your day I highly recommend you making time to visit Schedel Arboretum & Gardens. Their hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $12. One of the main attractions in the garden is the Japanese Garden.
Locally owned and distilled whiskey, Ernest Scarano Distillery is a great place for a tasting. On Small Town Charm we got a behind the scenes look at the distillery process. I tried the Clover whiskey which is made with local honey. I am not a huge whiskey fan but this was delicious. I could immediately taste the honey with a smooth whiskey finish.
Dinning
This adorable café is so much more than a place to go for a cup of coffee. Continuing the loving spirit of Christy, Christy’s Corner employs individuals with disabilities to help them learn valuable skills for their next opportunity. By end of the summer of 2021 they plan to expand the space to host soft skills classes. Learn more about Christy’s story here.

DiStazio’s Pizza is expanding their business in the building where Wine Fight used to reside. DiStazio is planning to use the space as a bistro; offering visitors and locals another great place to dine.
Shopping
In addition to fashion, home décor and gifting items, Whimsy and Blue has a flower bar. Brides can visit and schedule consultations with Jo James to design their flowers for their big day. The owner also offers vintage rentals for weddings and events.
Connected to Whimsy and Blue, Creatively Altered is a must visit for craft lovers. From beautiful yarns and kid crafts to silk flower classes and Annie Sloan Chalk paint; you are sure to find a project to fulfill your crafting need.
This small American clothing store both designs the fabrics and produces the clothing available in the online and physical store. Offering both children’s and some adult items, all clothes are produced in the shop or by local seamstresses.
Whether you are looking for candy, shopping for a loved one or want to get a cool souvenir, Elmore General Store has unique items throughout the space.
This is a really unique place to get a customized quilt. In addition to picking out the fabrics you can also choose a variety of fun stitch designs including swirls.
In this small downtown area one wouldn’t expect all the hidden gems uncovered in Small Town Charm. You can easily spend a day here and make great memories.
