5 Things to Know About Margaritaville Resort Orlando Florida

After the Midwest winter we endured we had to make a tropical escape. Looking for a resort styled vacation I stumbled across the Margaritaville Resort in Orlando Florida. Before arriving, I had a few questions so here are 5 things to know before your trip to Margaritaville Resort Orlando Florida:

What is the best package?

On the Margaritaville website there are multiple packages (both seasonal and all year options) available to include in your stay. We chose the “Stay in Paradise” that included a $50 one-time resort credit and breakfast every morning of our stay. If you are staying for 3 or more days this is a great package to consider. We did the math and even though we paid a little more each night on the room we still got about $60 back in value.

*Tip: Looking for perks, discounts and free airfare? We got free flights with our Delta American Express card. I absolutely love it and all the perks it comes with. Check it out here.

How often do the shuttles run?

The resort does offer complimentary shuttle service to surrounding theme parks. One thing to note is that the shuttle service is only available at specific times each day and you have to pre-register before boarding. If you plan to visit multiple parks, I do not suggest their shuttle service; choose a rideshare or a resort that would get you to the parks you want.

Can you bring your own swim ring/inner tube/floaty?

Yes! You can pack it in your suitcase, buy one in the onsite giftshop or purchase one from a store on the Sunset Walk.

What about adult beverages?

While there are onsite bars and several restaurants a short walk away in the Sunset Walk; I’d recommend bringing your own if you want to save a few dollars. Every room comes with a mini fridge so you can stick a few extra beers in there or your favorite liquor. You can get these items at a grocery store, the liquor store located at the Sunset Walk or at the onsite café.

How far away is the Sunset Walk?

The Sunset Walk is an entertainment strip with several restaurants, bars, shops and live music. It is just a short 3-5 minute walk from the hotel lobby.

Other things to note:

  • The pool is zero entry and has white sand areas where the lounge chairs are located.

  • Every hotel room comes with a balcony/patio with a set of lawn chairs.

  • You do get a cocktail at the check-in desk upon arrival.

  • If you come before your room is ready or you have a late flight, they will hold your luggage for you while you enjoy the pool and other amenities.

  • The resort is near Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

  • There is a water park about a 6-8 minute walk from the hotel lobby.

Overall we had a wonderful time and will most likely return in the future. If you are looking for a tropical getaway without needing a passport Margaritaville Orlando, FL is a great option.
