11 Northwest Ohio Breweries to visit

There are so many great craft breweries in northwest Ohio. Each of them are unique in flavor, personality and environment. Here are 10 northwest Ohio Breweries to check out:

Twin Oast - Port Clinton, OH

You may visit for the beer but you stay for the atmosphere. With gorgeous landscaping there is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy a sunset while sipping on an IPA. Twin Oast also hosts various events throughout the summer season including Quinstock and Oastoberfest.

Earnest Brew Works - Toledo, OH

There are two locations that serve the same, classic delicious craft brew. My personal favorite Earnest Brew Works location is downtown Toledo because you can order food from other restaurants and dine in while sipping on an ale.

Inside the Five - Sylvania, OH & Perrysburg, OH

The culinary inspired flavors are well worth the trip to one of the two locations of Inside the Five. The brewers are so creative with the flavor profiles. If you are wanting to explore with your palate Inside the Five is a must. Learn more from the owner here.

Catawba Island Brewing Co - Port Clinton, OH

The Hot Blonde Ale is the main reason you have to visit Catawba Island Brewing Co. The ale is a much better experience off tap. It is spicey but an explosion of flavor I have never had in a beer before. Check out my interview with the head brewer here.

Laird Arcade Brewery - Tiffin, OH

The theming alone makes the Laird Arcade Brewery (LAB) fun to visit. Decorating the space to resemble a high school chemistry lab right down to the use of beakers in a flight. The beer is good but the seltzer is what keeps me coming back. Take a tour inside here.

Black Frog Brewery - Holland, OH

If you are looking for a classic beer with a little sweetness Black Frog Brewery is your place. Each beer has a little honey infused in the recipe. My personal favorite is Granny’s Sweet Potato Pie ale which comes out during the fall season. Learn more from the owner here.

Patron Saints Brewing - Toledo, OH

Count your blessing with these divine brews at Patron Saints Brewing. The beers are classic, delicious and refreshing. The brewery also makes flavorful seltzers. What I love most about this brewery are the visiting food trucks guests can order from while drinking Patron Saints craft beer. Check out what the owners had to say here.

Put In Bay Brewing Co - Put In Bay, OH

The only brewery on the island, Put In Bay Brewing Co is a must visit. The brewery does not sell any of the craft beer on the mainland; it’s exclusive to Put In Bay. My personal favorite is the Watermelon Wheat.

Maumee Bay Brewing Co - Toledo, OH

For a casual night out Maumee Bay Brewing Co. is a great place to grab a flight of beers and snack on some wood fire pizza. The sours are where the brewers craftsmanship really shines.

Findlay Brewing Co - Findlay, OH

Well crafted beers and a casual atmosphere makes Findlay Brewing Co perfect for a date night, group dinner or solo outing. Another great place for classic brewed craft beer accompanied by flavor profiles that intrigue you.

HEAVY Beer Co. - Toledo, OH

Wanting to dip your toe into the craft beer world then HEAVY Beer Co. is your best friend. Located in the basement of Toledo Spirits, HEAVY Beer is a casual space to have a few brews. Classic beers that are designed for many palates to enjoy. My personal favorite is the “Oh Yeah!”
