Girls Have 3 Kinds of Friends

In life many people come and go but there are few that remain. One may be a significant other and another a child but for me I am one of the luckiest people I know. I don’t consider myself a popular person or someone with a million friends but the friends I do have are the most amazing people and that is why I feel like the luckiest person. You see there are 2 kinds of friends:

1.) Acquaintance- Someone who you see occasionally, catch up on life and shower each other with compliments for the sake of conversation.

2.) True Friend- This friend is blunt, honest and keeps you grounded. They love you for who you are and are willing to help you grow anyway they can whether through their honest words or just being the outstanding person they are.

I can honestly say my friends are true friends. I may not always like what they have to say but I know it comes from a place of love. Each one of them have a quality I aspire to be like and pushes me to be the best person I can be. But as a girl there is 1 kind of friend that is a must to get through life. This friend severs as a go-to, a rock, a guard and a sibling. Every girl has that one Guy Best Friend. These are the best because they are not only your voice of reason when it comes to dating advice but a big brother who will protect you when needed.

My guy best friend moved to his home state in Wisconsin 2 years ago and our visits have been few and far between. I went from seeing him everyday to begging him to come back every 6-8 months; that was a really hard adjustment. But this past weekend that all changed! My best friend came back and we spent time together for the first time in 2 years! But this wasn’t all for me. My guy best friend, one of my girl best friends and I have a tradition. Every graduation we all three took a picture together. This year the photo sequence will be complete as my girl best friend concludes her time at Heidelberg University.

We only get 1 life time and while making others satisfied is a natural need it isn’t always healthy. I may not be polly popular but I can say I have some of the best kind of friends anyone can have. Hold on to those relationship that run deep and are built on honesty. They will keep you grounded, focused and keep you growing.
