Toledo Must Do’s: Holiday Edition

The lights are up and shopping has begun. It may be getting cold outside but don’t let that slow you down. There is so much to do in Toledo during this holiday season. Whether you are looking to gather with friends or heat things up with your significant other these Must-Dos will keep you in good spirits.

1.) Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas

Who doesn’t love going with family, friends or a significant other and gazing upon the constructed shapes made out of lights?! They have a whole new 3-D holiday exhibit titled Scenes of Wonder. I can’t wait to jump start the holiday season with this fun activity.

*Tip: Can’t get enough of holiday lights? Check out Christmas on 1265 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio. I was amazed at the detail they put into their holiday entertainment.

2.) Downtown 419 Tolley Hop

Get a group of friends and board that trolley! Drink to stay warm and explore Downtown Toledo in holiday style! I am personally excited this came back for 2017!

*Tip: Get your tickets ASAP! They sell fast!

3.) Walleye Games

There are so many fun themed nights coming up in December. My personal favorites are Star Wars Night 12/9 and Paw &Pucks on 12/17. Whether you like to rock your Star Wars gear or bring your furry best friend these are always great events during this time of year!

*Tip: Don’t want to walk all the way back to your car? Take one of the downtown golf carts.

4.) Holiday Entertainment

There is so much holiday cheer among the arts. Journey with Clara in the Nutcracker at the Stranahan Theater on 12/9 and 12/10. Experience the holiday classic It’s A Wonderful Life on the silver screen at the Valentine Theater 12/15. Don’t forget to check out the Harlem Globetrotters on 12/30 at the Huntington Center.

*Tip: In addition to these great events be sure to take a stroll in Promenade Park and the Warehouse District. It is charming when all the lights are up.

5.) New Year’s Eve Party

Bring in the new year at Nine in Downtown Toledo! Start off with a 5 course meal prepared by Chef Tony and dance 2017 away the rest of the evening with music from DJ Jason Kelly. This will be so much fun and they have champagne for the big midnight toast! The event does require semi-formal attire which means the ladies have a perfect excuse to go shopping.

*Tip: You do have to purchase tickets in advanced. Click Here to reserve your spot now.

There is so much to do in Toledo for the holidays. Make memories with your loved ones this season. I would love to hear from you! Post pics of you doing these activities and be sure to #hayliestory! Have a happy holiday season!
